Volcano Golf Club and Restaurant building damaged in a structure fire early Thursday morning (November 14th).

The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) along with the Hawaii Police Department (HPD responded to structure fire at the Volcano Golf Club in Volcano Village early Thursday morning (November 14th).
The initial call came in at 4:48 am Thursday morning and crews from the Volcano, Pahala, Pahoa, and Kea'au Fire Stations along with Battalion 1 and volunteers from Volcano Village responded to the scene located at the 99-1600 block of Piimauna Drive in Volcano Village.
Upon the arrival of HFD crews, a neighbor heard the fire crackling at Volcano Golf Club and immediately called 911.
Once HFD crews arrived on scene, HFD crews immediately went into an offensive/defensive mode and worked to gain control of the fire, which had caused substantial damage to the golf club retail shop and office. Due to limited water supply at the scene, HFD crews utilized 2 water tankers (1 - 3,000 gallons and 1 - 2,000 gallons) to shuttle water to and from water supply source located in Mountain View. HFD crews were able to have a fire under control at 5:25 am Thursday morning and had the fire out at 8:30 am.
HFD crews were able to have the fire contained to the Retail and Office section of the golf club and saved the restaurant, changing rooms, golf carts, and a large retail storage area of the golf club. The fire caused an estimated $315,000 in damage.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
