Waikoloa Information Update for February 19th, 2020
The Hawaii Police Department (HPD) is investigating the discovery of a body south of Anaeho'omalu Bay in Waikoloa Wednesday morning (February 19th).

HPD detectives with Area II Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) continue with their investigation to a discovery of a body south of Anaeho'omalu Bay in Waikoloa Wednesday morning (February 19th).
HPD officials have not provided further details such as general age or gender of the body discovered Wednesday morning, other than providing confirmation that their currently conducting an investigation into the discovery at this time and further details are forthcoming.
HPD official had also said that the discovery is in the area of where a female party was reported missing/last seen late Tuesday evening (February 18th), however, it is unknown at this time if the discovery is related and detectives are actively searching for Smriti Saxena at this time (Details posted below in the post).

HPD released a Nixle Alert early Wednesday morning and provide the following details to a female party who was last seen at Lava Lava Beach Club Tuesday evening:

"The Hawaii Police Department seeks your help in locating Smriti Saxena, 41-year-old female, Indian, 5'2", 102 pounds, fair complexion, wearing a black dress with multi-colored floral design and a black jacket. She was last seen at the Lava Lava Beach Club in Waikoloa on February 18, 2020, at approximately 10:30 p.m. If you have information on Saxena's whereabouts, please call 911 or the non-emergency Dispatch line at 935-3311."
At this time, search for Saxena remains active and information on the whereabouts of Saxena is asked to call HPD at their non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.
