County of Hawaii Department of Public Works (DPW) announces Traffic Signal Work is scheduled to take place at two intersections in North and South Kona in April 2020.

In order to facilitate improved traffic flow for right-hand turns at key Kona intersections, the Hawaii County Department of Public Works Traffic Division will conduct traffic signal and signage work on Palani Road at Henry Street on April 7 and at the intersection of Highway 11 and Napo`opo`o Road on April 9. Work will be performed from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather conditions permitting.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2020, the following work will be done at the intersection of Palani Road and Henry Street/Ane Keohokalole Highway:
a. Overhead work to replace traffic signal heads.
b. Overhead work to install signage on traffic signal poles at the northeastern and southeastern corners of the intersection.
c. Sign installation.
On Thursday, April 9, 2020, the following work will be done at the intersection of Highway 11 and Alii Drive/Napo`opo`o Road intersection:
d. Overhead work to replace traffic signal heads.
e. Overhead work to install signage on the traffic signal pole at the northwestern corner of the intersection.
f. Sign removal and replacement.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the work zone and traffic control personnel will be on-site to direct traffic.
