The 41st Annual Ironman Triathlon World Championships will be happening on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 and Road Closures, and Restrictions will be in effect that day.

Race Route Thursday, October 10, at 6:00 a.m. through Sunday, October 13, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.

North and South Kohala District Road Closures and Restrictions
Akoni Pule Highway (270) between Kawaihae / Waimea Junction (19) and Hawi
▶ Road CLOSED (8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
▶ Alternate Route to Hawi is Kohala Mountain Road (Hwy 250) which runs from Waimea to Hawi
Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway between Waimea Junction (270 & 19) and NELHA
Makala Boulevard Akoni Pule Highway (270) between Kawaihae / Waimea Junction (19) and Hawi
▶ Road CLOSED (8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
▶ Alternate Route to Hawi is Kohala Mountain Road (Hwy 250) which runs from Waimea to Hawi Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway between Waimea Junction (270 & 19) and NELHA.
▶ Road CLOSED (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
▶ Alternate Route for traffic between the hotels, the airport and Kona will be via Waikoloa Village Road, Mamalahoa Highway 190, Kaiminani Drive (Palisades) and the Ane Keohokalole Highway, race traffic permitting.
