Notice Level: Advisory (Information Update Needed)
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind advisory for the South Kohala district of the Island of Hawaii until 6:00 pm this evening (Thursday, April 30th). Strong tradewinds up to 35 mph with stronger gust up to 50 mph are expected through this evening.

WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Northeast winds 20 to 35 mph with localized gusts over 50 mph. * WHERE...Portions of Kahoolawe, Lanai, Maui and the Big Island Hawaii. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening. * IMPACTS...Winds this strong are capable of downing trees and causing power outages. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Motorists should use extra caution.

Keaumuku (Waiki'i): Winds of 26 mph with gust of 35 mph.
Kamuela (Waimea): Winds of 21 mph with gust of 33 mph.
Waikoloa Village: Winds of 22 mph with gust of 34 mph.
Puako (Kohala Coast): Winds of 20 mph with gust of 30 mph.
Upper Kohala Ranch (near Kahua Ranch): Winds of 21 mph with gust of 21 mph.
Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) - Hawaii Island, Spectrum, and Hawaiian Telcom reports no outages or issues for the South Kohala district, however, advised that outages/issues can occur without notice and ask residents be prepared.
